2024-2025 Leadership

Jane Hernandez
President

Being a Chiseler is important to me because as a Tampa native and a graduate of the University of Tampa, Plant Hall is a very special place for me.

It is important to me to be a part of preserving our city’s historic landmark for future generations to enjoy and appreciate.

Mary Scourtes Greacen
VP Communications

As a Chiseler, I’m dedicated to the preservation, and celebration of the history and heritage of UT’s historic 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel and am proud to be among the fabulous women who have helped maintain this iconic landmark. Climbing to the top of one of the fabled minarets was one of this Tampa native’s bucket list.

Irene Baker
VP Membership

Being a Chiseler is important to me because I believe we should all leave a legacy.

Being part of the preservation and restoration effort for the magnificent Plant Hall is an honor and privilege, augmented with the incredible opportunity to work with so many wonderful women that I might not have meet and befriended otherwise!

Laurie Roddy
VP Finance

The Minarets, probably the most minuscule, yet iconic “rooms” are my favorites in Plant Hall. As a provisional, I was thrilled to climb up that slender tower’s steep stairs to marvel at the panoramic view marveling at the UT campus, the River Walk, Downtown Tampa and beyond. From that vantage point I was struck by the enormity of the historic Tampa Bay Hotel and its symbolic importance to Tampa.

Cindy Ramm
President Elect

My favorite room in Plant Hall is The Chiseler Board Room. More members need to have the opportunity to see this. It has our history and the artifacts in the room embodies who we are and what we have accomplished.

Deborah Giglio
VP Development

The grand old Tampa Bay Hotel was and is a true architectural marvel. The ornate craftsmanship is evident throughout the building, though the main dining room with its blue sky-like domed ceiling above the beautiful floral murals and intricately carved balcony windows is the gem. I can imagine the many elegantly dressed hotel guests gathering to share delightful meals and lively conversation in what we know now at Fletcher Lounge.

Elizabeth Christenberry
VP Governance

Being a Chiseler is important to me because of the historical preservation of Plant Hall which this group supports.

The amazing group of women who for 63 years have raised money through fundraising events, grants and dedication have helped preserve an iconic building which is a treasure to Tampa.

Kathe Lowrey
Secretary

My favorite room in Plant Hall is the lobby with its grand staircase, fireplaces, and gracious verandas on either side.  After 132 years, the lobby still serves… the clientele may have changed from hotel guests to students, but the first impression still delights those entering for the first time, tempting them to further explore this grand building.
